The Rise of Twitter And the Problem That Has Come To The Surface - Fake Follower Counts

Twitter over the last few years taken a tremendous leap to the fore front of social media. Many people use it as their primary outlet to express their opinion on the issues of the day. Issues that have a political position. Issues that are polarizing for sure.

Someone can make quick and fast comments on Twitter and have a tremendous reach. It is the type of business model that has made Twitter a major a player  amongst the big social media outlets. It gives someone a big voice with little content in comparison of the other major 4 social media platforms (Tik Tok, FaceBook, Instagram and SnapChat).

Having a venue/platform like Twitter makes it easy for someone to fire off and take shots (cheap or not) at someone or something using Twitters business model of short highly charged statements. And when they do, they are going to get a reaction for sure. It could be positive or negative. But, a reaction will happen - mostly.

People have taken to the social media platform - big time.

So, it should be no surprise that his increased popularity will spark peoples radar who have a political position/agenda that they want to share with people. Along with people - there are other sources that are paying attention to numbers. Anytime of search engine is going to look at the influencers on Twitter and take advantage of the largest number of followers a person or account has, to gain the greatest social reach. They are going to pay attention to the analytics and metrics of people profiles.

Of course Google and Google's algorithm is going to notice what is happening on Twitter and the people who are posting there. People will look at someone's Twitter account and the number of their followers before spending large amount of money to use their account as a business investment. Be careful.

If you are paying attention to someone's clout on Twitter there is something that you should consider - Follower Count's might have a big problem. The problem Fake Followers.

According to Sparktoro.com - their research indicates that 5-30% Twitters accounts are fake. So, if you are a person who makes decisions based on the numbers or a business that is considering using someones follower counts as a possible business investment - be careful. Consider the numbers as what they really are. Consider what the content of the account first and foremost. Don't get smoke screened by an account on Twitter that has significant high follower numbers. It is very likely that the number of followers is not accurate.

So, like anything in life, trust your gut and make decision based off of your values and what you believe. Don't get swayed by analytics and false numbers when it comes to giving a person or business their thoughts or position credence. Before you choose to spend your money and time - make sure it's not driven by follower counts.

Numbers, stats and follower counts are not what someone should solely use to make investment choices - if that be time or money. In my opinion, you should follow what you feel is true and corresponds with your values.

Twit on!

How Much Should You Expect to Pay When Hiring an SEO/SEM Agency?

Pricing is something that I have had asked a lot lately and so I wanted to address this issue.

Of course, pricing is going to depend on the type of SEO "white hat" or 'black hat", how comprehensive it is to perform what the client expects and the quality of what part of the
"SEO Pie" they are working on. Ex. Link Building

So, I am going to include the links to answers to these questions - I found in MOZ.com.
